2017 VCA ELECTIONS

IT'S ELECTION TIME AGAIN! As a member of the Virginia Counselors Association, please take a minute to vote for YOUR 2017-18 VCA President-Elect, Secretary-Elect, and Treasurer-Elect.   VCA has implemented an on-line voting via our secure, password controlled member portal. The voting system will only allow one ballot to be cast per active member. Once the member is verified the ballot is counted anonymously. You must login to cast your ballot on-line

VIRGINIA BOARD OF COUNSELING - NEW REGULATIONS

Effective February 8, 2017, application and renewal fees will be increasing for the Practice of Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioners, Certification of Rehabilitation Providers and Substance Abuse Counselors and Substance Abuse Counseling Assistants. All applications and renewals received (not postmarked) on or after February 8, 2017 will be required to pay the new fees

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Volume 36
 
The Virginia Counselors Journal, the professional journal of the Virginia Counselors Association, is currently seeking submissions for Volume 36. We are looking for quantitative and qualitative research articles as well as theory-based position papers and reports of innovative counseling methods. Specific categories for consideration in the Journal include but are not limited to: counselor preparation, supervision, professional development, counseling theory, current issues, innovative practice, and book or related material reviews
You are invited to share your original work through this opportunity for publication in a refereed professional journal. Submitted manuscripts are acknowledged on receipt by the editor(s) and sent out for review to Editorial Board members using a blind review process. Every effort is made to have disposition decisions completed within 60 days of manuscript submission. Specific guidelines for manuscript submission can be found on the Virginia Counselors Association website.
The Virginia Counselors Journal is produced for the benefit of all Virginia counselors; thus we hope to have submissions from a wide variety of counseling specialty areas. Questions about a proposed or actual submission may be directed to the co-editors at the following address: vcjeditor@gmail.com.
VCA - NBCC Approved Provider #2047

Virginia Counselors Association has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 2047.  Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.  Virginia Counselors Association is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

VCA Programs Complaint Policy and Procedure

If you have attended a VCA, VCA Chapter or VCA Division program and have a complaint or dispute regarding that program, please write a letter and include the following:  Your  name, address, telephone number, email, name of event, date and location of the event, complaint and desired resolution to VCA via one of the following ways- (Email) vcaoffice@cox.net; (FAX) 757-766-5467 or (Mail) VCA, 316 Hodges Cove Rd., Yorktown, VA  23692.  You will receive a reply from VCA no later than two weeks from the date you submitted the complaint/dispute.
