General Information

The VCA convention is an annual professional development opportunity for counselors who work in a variety of settings. The goal of the convention is to offer a diverse selection of programs for both new and experienced counselors. We are particularly interested in programs that address collaboration among a variety of interests or practice areas (i.e.: school counselors and private practitioners). The convention draws counselors from across the state of Virginia and offers exhibits representing a wide variety of educational programs and products.

VCA anticipates offering up to 75 concurrent sessions on Thursday and Friday (November 8 & 9), one to two hours in length following several formats. According to VCA policy, each VCA division is guaranteed a minimum of three (3) interest sessions, if deadlines and acceptance criteria are met.
