General Information

The VCA convention is an annual professional development opportunity for counselors who work in a variety of settings. The goal of the convention is to offer a diverse selection of programs for both new and experienced counselors. We are particularly interested in programs that address collaboration among a variety of interests or practice areas (i.e.: school counselors and private practitioners). The convention draws counselors from across the state of Virginia and offers exhibits representing a wide variety of educational programs and products.

Sessions

VCA anticipates offering up to 75 sessions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (November 7-9) one to two hours in length following several formats. According to VCA policy, each VCA division is guaranteed a minimum number of three (3) interest sessions, if deadlines and acceptance criteria are met. In addition, VCA anticipates offering several longer format workshops during the convention ranging in length from three to six hours. To be considered, presenters should contact the program chairman directly at vcaconventionprograms@gmail.com.
